Glasgow Airport is located 8 miles outside of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. The facility is the 2nd busiest airport in the country, having slightly less traffic than Edinburgh Airport. The area has seen a number of changes through the years.

In 1966, commercial flights began operating from the new Glasgow airport. A supermarket was built where the former airport once stood in Renfrew.
In 1975, BAA gained control of Glasgow Airport. The company extended terminal buildings and added international departure lounges and piers allowing the airport to accommodate 9 million passengers annually. A number of services are offered for passenger comfort.
