
This beautiful Belgian tradition of “carpet squares” with flowers, literally, can be seen in the Czech Republic next week, more precisely in the Old Town Square in Prague.
Is that the Office of Tourism of the Czech Republic reported that between March and September 5, 2010, florists distinguished line the Old Town Square in Prague, it will create a “carpet” of flowers on it singular and representative European public space.
The truth is that the exhibition will be inaugurated on September 3 at 18 hours, and all tourists that are near the area are invited to witness it.
On this occasion, florists held in Prague a specially designed floral carpet, for which use about 150 000 begonias in the wide range of colors, which will be spread over an area of 500 square meters in the square of the old city.
And as we said a moment ago, this show is taken from a Belgian tradition, by which, since 1971, every two years, held in Belgium in the tradition of the Floral Carpet. The first was created in the city of Brussels.
Since then, every two years, designers florists create a tapestry in the Grand Place square in Belgium, one of the largest and most beautiful in this country and throughout Europe. They use the begonias, being very pretty flowers and various colors, which gives the design a particular aspect and innovative at a time.
Begonias that have appeared first in the area of Ghent, back in 1860.
