Procedure for obtaining a visa for Russia
1. The tourist visa (one or two entries) is given for the maximum period of one month to foreign citizens or stateless persons passing through the presentation of the following documents:
a) – the original is better fitted with a foreign tour company or a copy of the voucher provided by that Russia, a copy of the confirmation visas (with the tourist’s passport details, dates of departure and return) provided by a company Russian tourist hotel or Russian, which are registered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia and have the reference number;
for tourist traveling by car on the voucher and confirmation must be given the mark color, registration number and the itinerary on Russian territory. However, for those who arrive in Russia with the car is recalled that at the border customs bodies pose to anyone who may have seen in the course of validity (regardless if the car is marked on the ticket or not) and the motor vehicle, is in any case declared to customs (this also applies for those who have already done so near the consulate displaying the ticket with the details of car)
b) – the passport or travel document valid for at least six months elapse from the date of the visa required;
c) – the form completed and signed (USA citizens, male, age 16 to 45 years must also complete a supplement to the form);
d) – the application form;
e) – a picture card;
f) – payment by status and urgency of the visa;
g) – foreign citizens also have a copy of that residence permit or identity card;
h) – the citizens of the Schengen States and Israel, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Estonia have to submit a copy of the insurance policy for the entire period of their stay in Russia and fill in the form follow (for insurance companies authorized to see “security certificates”).
2. The business visa is granted with the submission of the original invitation provided by the office of visas and passports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), and the MFA of Russia or its representatives in the regions of Russia.
Instead of an invitation made on paper an instruction can be sent directly to the Consulate by email of the MFA of Russia or its representatives in the regions of Russia.

3. The private travel visa is granted for a maximum period of 90 days with the original presentation of what the invitation of names provided by the office of visas and passports from the MAI after the request of a Russian citizen or foreign citizen who is domiciled in Russia.

4. The transit visa is granted to foreigners, who stand in Russia for the period from 24 hours to 10 days or have to leave for some reason the airport’s transit area on the submission of passport or valid travel document bearing the valid visa of the destination country, in addition to airline tickets to confirm the stop in Russia. USA citizens have to get transit visas also for the stop in the transit area of the airport is less than 24 hours.

5. The certificate of the HIV negative test is delivered to the consulate by foreign travelers (except dependents of foreign diplomatic and consular offices and international organizations) that are in Russia for more than 90 days. Such a certificate has to be done in Russian and English and contains personal data of the passport, the result and date of investigation, the doctor’s signature of the licensed clinic. The certificate is valid for 90 days from the date of the analysis.
6. The delivery of documents is made in person or by an accredited travel agency near the consulate. But in any case is a right of the consul call requesting an interview. The cost of a visa whose documents are sent by mail is calculated by the day of their arrival at the day of the revocation of the visa is the responsibility of the applicant. The Consulate does not assume any responsibility for possible loss of documents sent by mail.
