Amsterdam, the capital of Holland, is one of the most touristic cities and individuals across Europe. Cosmopolitan, open and original has many things that can attract us. Built on a low ground along the Amstel and Ij rivers, its system of levees to prevent flooding during flooding has become famous worldwide, and given that character is so unique. View slanted their homes, with many colors, or the number of channels that cross is a pleasure for tourists. Not only are these channels and houses … here are things you should know if you want to visit Amsterdam.

Amsterdam’s can be divided into seven districts or areas.

The main one is the downtown area, starting from the Central Station to get to Plaza Damm, where you will find the Royal Palace and the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church). This broad avenue there are plenty of bars and restaurants to eat at a good price. From there take the street Kalverstraat, a very commercial street with a special charm, where besides the classic shops you have the Amsterdam Historical Museum and the Begijnhof, a lovely monastic district. Madame Tussaud’s Museum and the Church of St. Nicholas are other views that can be done in this area.

In the west ring, right in the center, turning down the Central Station is the Jordaan district. I recommend walking between channels and observe the many forms and the inclination of many of the houses in that neighborhood. You can cross the bridges that go from the Keizersgracht and Herengracht Printsengracht. In this district the main views are the Westerkerk, a church with a very high tower from which you can get good views of Amsterdam and its canals, and the house of Anne Frank.
